Thanks for this! You remembered my interest in her, from a while back. It's good to see your still spreading the greatness of Ethiopian music; aside from you, I think nobody else is providing this kind of understanding and depth.

A fascinating artist. I remember reading elsewhere that she died during tghe Eritrean-Ethiopian War, but nothing else. A damn shame, too.

Thanks so much for the improved rip. As much as I enjoy Ethiopian and Eritrean music, I especially enjoy the female vocalists whom you post, but I'll never complain about anything recorded by Mahmoud Ahmed, Tilahun Gessesse, Abraham Afewerki, and Alemayehu
Eshete.

What is so great about your blog is it saves wear and tear on my car because I don't have to drive twenty five miles to the nearest Ethiopian grocery store or even rarer music store and you provide music from all the greats, the diaspora, and current Ethiopian singers and musicians. I can never thank you or comment enough for all the great music you provide, much of which compels me to try to find for purchase other recordings by the artists online. አመሰግናለሁ.
